Since then, he has been the recipient of many awards including the Maryland Family Physician of the Year Award in 2006 and a finalist for the American Family Physician of the Year Award in 2007. He is most proud, however, of earning the title of Morgan County WV's Apple Butter Festival Hog Calling Champion in 2004.
