Guest Profile: Mike Garson
Mike Garson is an American pianist and com whose wide range of repertoire encompasses classical, jazz, and rock.
Mike played keyboards for 14 years with David Bowie. He is now and has always been a concert level classical pianist as well as proficient in contemporary and classical jazz and rock music. His start however was in the field of medicine and he was indeed pre-med but he chose to go the path of music. He now wants to "give back" to patients with his gift of music. This is what led to the Music Heals Project for which he has composed music to be used in conjunction with treatment for many serious ailments. He collaborates on this project with Dr. Christopher Duma, board-certified neurosurgeon who founded FNSR, Foundation for Neuroscience, Stroke and Recovery.
